Gregoire Thoby is a French-American author and director. His debut semi-autobiographical novel, La Ride du souci (The Worry Line) was published in France in 2021 and received the Gay Fiction Award—the French equivalent of the Lammys. Oscillating between drama and comedy, his novels feature oddballs, lonely souls and cynics.

Originally from Nantes, France, he studied cinema at the Sorbonne in Paris before directing a documentary, Cousin Madenn, which was awarded Best Feature at We Care Film Fest, New Delhi. He has lived in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Joshua Tree, and embarked on a two-year nomadic adventure—first traversing Europe in an RV, then discovering remote areas of the U.S. and Mexico in a self-converted school bus.

Gregoire currently resides in Albuquerque with his husband and dog. His debut novel is being translated into English, and he has just completed a second one.
