DIY eBook

How to convert a school bus into a tiny home

207-page downloadable PDF available on request

Welcome to Kiki’s page!

We finished converting our school bus in July 2021 and, excited to show Kiki to the world, we posted pictures online. We quickly realized that many people wanted to know more about our work. We received hundreds of questions regarding our homemade elevator bed, stainless steel shower, design choices and especially on how we managed to fit so much in such a small space (22 ft. long bus, 5-window). Kiki even ended up in The Daily Mirror UK and plenty of international media!

So we started to write about our conversion process. We had taken lots of photos and videos while building but did not plan to publish them initially. We now share everything: links to all parts/materials/products we used, technical drawings, step-by-step pictures…

We hope this eBook will help you build your own dream home on wheels, whether your project is a van, a longer bus, a box truck, or even a tiny house.

More details below. Enjoy!

Kiki the Skoolie, THE ULTIMATE LAYOUT

How to convert a school bus into a tiny home

Downloadable PDF eBook, 207 pages, 500+ photos, 260+ references & links, 21 technical drawings

From its ingenious and unique layout to its minimalist design, Kiki the Skoolie is like no other converted school bus. This extremely detailed and practical guide, full of pictures, links and drawings, will help you build your own dream home on wheels, whether your project is a van, a longer bus, a box truck, or even a tiny house.

Theater special effects specialists Fabrice Delaure and Greg Thoby wanted the ‘impossible’: to fit everything they needed in a 22 ft. short bus, without compromising on comfort and natural light.

Elevator queen size bed, optional guest bed, spacious and 100% waterproof shower, fully equipped kitchen, rotating passenger seat, 4-people living room/dining room/office area, composting toilet, fully off-grid… they will show you step by step how they achieved that with a budget of only $9,000 (cost of the vehicle and exterior painting not included).

This is the book they wished they had found when they started working on their conversion project.
